Holiday Ops 2023: Event Tips by Special Commander Wendy

There are so many reasons that make this year's Holiday Ops so special. We've got two amazing hosts - Arnold Schwarzenegger and Milla Jovovich. Chaffee the dog and the Redshire cat are chilling in your garage whenever you need some animal therapy. And of course, brand new vehicles for setting hearts and enemies on fire!

To make the season extra special, the APAC region has a new special commander "Wendy Han", who is based on our APAC Community Evangelist.

Just like last year's Snow Maidens, Wendy is now here to introduce the best ways to enjoy Holiday Ops 2023 to the fullest.

Holiday Ops 2023 features a special event currency called resources. There are four types of resources in the event: Rock Crystal, Pure Emerald, Warm Amber, and Meteoric Iron. To recruit Wendy, you have to improve the Festive Atmosphere.

To to improve the Festive Atmosphere, upgrade decorative objects by investing Rock Crystal and Pure Emerald. You can also get these resources in the following ways:

There are 10 levels of Festive Atmosphere. By improving your Festive Atmosphere and reaching each new level, you will earn in-game rewards, such as Personal Reserves, national and universal fragments, new female crew members, a brand-new festive 2D style with unique Marks of Excellence, and much more.

Even if you completed all requirements to recruit special commander Wendy, it doesn't mean that your challenge for the Holiday Ops 2023 is over! There's still so much to do and claim.

There are a few differences between this year's and last year's Holiday Ops. For example, there are no more small boxes and shards, also you can't use the decorider and the albums of decoration collections. But there are definitely new things to fill the void.

If you use the new features wisely, you can easily increase your festive atmosphere and get more rewards!

This year, the Holiday Ops garage turns into a snowy Village full of festive magic and fairy lights. In the village, you can find Headquarters, which is where you can receive special combat missions and Assignments from our incredible celebrities. There are also three magnificent decorative objects in your Village—the Christmas Tree, Fair, and Installation—that you can adorn with amazing Decorations!

When you first log in to the game client, you’ll be able to choose a fun name for your festive Village from the suggested combinations of words. Once confirmed, your Village will keep this name until the end of the event.

You can collect resources in your Village up to twice a day. After collecting resources for the first time in your Village, a 55-minute cooldown occurs. After the second collection, the cooldown lasts until the start of the next game day (00:00 UTC+8).

Upon reaching Festive Atmosphere Level II, you will find a true friend in your Village: a cute and cheerful dog named Chaffee! If you pet Chaffee once a day, you will get a certain number of additional random resources.

You can't send a Holiday post to your friends using holiday stamps like last year, but instead of just sending a post, you can visit the villages of all your friends in World of Tanks to see who has the most creative and festive one of all! Moreover, you can assign the status of "Best Friend" to up to two players from your friends list and visit their festive Garages and collect some extra resources once a day to boost your progress in the event.

Every time you collect resources in your Best Friend's Villages, you add one point to a special counter. After earning a certain number of these points, you will have the opportunity to get the following unique friendship-themed customizations: "Bonds of Friendship" Inscription x6 (6 points), "Have your fun" Decal x6 (12 points), "Forward to Childhood" 2D style x1 (24 points).

The festive season is the perfect time for receiving presents! During Holiday Ops, you can get them in the Gift Terminal directly in your Village using special Tokens.

For each Token spent, you will get one surprise gift. You might receive consumables, Personal Reserves, and other loot. But in some special cases, you might even get the Object 283, a brand-new Tier IX Special Soviet medium tank—either as a rental for several Random Battles or as a permanent addition to your collection!

You can get Tokens for upgrading your Festive Atmosphere Levels, as rewards for completing Missions From Milla, or by purchasing them with Holiday Ops Resources (after certain conditions are met).

New Challenges and Guest's Assignments

Our guests of honor will provide you with Assignments, which are special quests that can be completed by spending a certain amount of Warm Amber and Meteoric Iron.

There are 10 Assignments from each celebrity (20 in total). Upon completing a certain number of these quests, you will receive exclusive decals and 2D styles with unique Marks of Excellence from our guests. On top of that, each completed Assignment increases the bonus to credits and to all types of XP—Free, Combat, and Crew—you earn in Random Battles.

Along with Assignments, Holiday Ops 2023 features special combat missions in your favorite challenge format. Get ready to take on 28 Missions From Milla—all in Random Battles! Upon completing a certain number of missions, you will receive awesome rewards, including the following cool Milla-inspired customizations that she has personally approved.
