  • Vehicle menu

Map Changes

Erlenberg

The map has undergone significant changes: both side flanks have been redesigned, and adjustments have been made to the city area. The castle on the western flank has been expanded, while on the eastern flank the single large hill with a windmill has been replaced by two equivalent hills—one for each team—along with a reshaped forested hill near the red line. These changes aim to distribute players more evenly across the map and reduce congestion in the central urban area. Vegetation density has also been greatly reduced to prevent situations where both teams would camp in forests and wait out the battle.

  1. Castle (squares E2–G4): Expanded into a full-fledged close-quarters combat area for heavy and medium tanks. Securing this flank grants access to a wide balcony with firing positions toward the opposite direction.

  2. Vegetation reduction (squares A1–B3 and J1–K3): Significantly thinned out to facilitate safer advances toward the enemy base after securing a flank.

  3. Eastern flank (squares C7–H0): The gameplay area has been completely reworked. It now features two parallel chains of hills, equal for both teams, and a large forested hill near the red line. This layout provides comfortable gameplay for medium and light tanks, as well as ambush opportunities for snipers.

  4. Base approaches: Vegetation near both teams' rear red lines has been heavily reduced, making pushes toward the enemy base safer after a flank has been won.

Overlord

The update significantly reworks coastal gameplay, redistributes combat areas inland, and adds new tactical opportunities across multiple directions. The changes aim to balance engagements for heavy, medium, and light tanks, as well as tank destroyers, while improving base approaches and defensive options.

  1. Seaside Removal

    • ~200m of gameplay space along the coast, including the heavy tank direction, has been removed and the water level has been raised.

    • The remaining coastal areas can now be used as safe routes for advancing toward the enemy base after securing the heavy tank direction.
  2. New Inland Direction (lines 8–0)

    • ~200m of new gameplay space has been added inland, introducing fields divided by hills, a central road, and a fortified lowland at the map’s edge.

    • The new direction is designed for medium and light tank gameplay, with ambush spots for tank destroyers and safe areas for artillery.

  3. Cliff Fortifications (D1–G2)

    • The direction along the cliff has been redesigned, with new structures added to support heavy tank and armored tank destroyer gameplay.

  4. New Flanking Exits (C1–C2 and H1–H2)

    • New exits from the heavy tank cliff direction have been added for both teams, allowing the winning side to quickly move down to the coast and flank the enemy base.

  5. Base Cliff Adjustments (A2–B3 and J2–K3)

    • The cliff height near both bases has been reduced to prevent long-range fire from dominating the heavy tank direction.

  6. TD Base Defense (B4 and J4)

    • Convenient defensive positions for tank destroyers have been added on both sides. These help counter breakthroughs in the heavy tank direction and strengthen base defense.

  7. Bunker Hill Rework (E2–F2)

    • The geometry of the hill with the bunker has been changed to prevent vehicles from holding dominant fire positions over the heavy tank direction.

  8. Central Hill Improvements (D5–E5 and F5–G5)

    • Hill geometry has been improved on both sides, with new positions created to hold back enemy pushes through the central area (E3–F4).

  9. Windmill Hill Adjustment (E3–E4)

    • The geometry of the windmill hill has been reworked to balance firing zones from the center of the map.

Fjords

The northern part of the map has been significantly redesigned to create more opportunities for both teams and make battles more dynamic. Gameplay areas have been expanded, while non-playable areas have been reduced.

  1. New Positions (A5–B6 and A8–B9)
    • These enable direct shooting between both teams' medium tanks and to other parts of the map, with the non-playable area reduced.
  2. New Close Combat Positions (A7)
  • The non-playable area has been reduced.

3. New LT Positions (B5–D7)

4. Shorter MT/LT Path for Eastern Team (B8–D9)

  • The non-playable area has been reduced and part of the mountain has been removed.

5. Modified Position (D7–E8)

  • This position, popular with tank destroyers and lightly armored vehicles, has been made clearer and more visible.

6. New Western Team Position (D4)

  • This position is similar to the position in E5.

7. Waterfall Position Removed (A0)

  • The unstable, unfair position in A0 near the waterfall has been removed.

8. New Path to Forest (B1–B2)

  • This makes it easier to push western base defenders.

9. Removed Vegetation (B4)

10. Minor Changes (E5)

  • Some bushes have been replaced with a rock.

Highway

Changes focus on the western half of the map to expand strategic options for medium tanks, improve routes toward bases, and adjust central terrain to offer better opportunities for light tanks.

  1. Terrain Modification (F6–F7 and G6–G7)
Elevated terrain features have been added in central areas to provide more opportunities for fast, maneuverable vehicles and enhance gameplay options for light and medium tanks.

  2. Route Adjustment in Urban Area (K3–K7)
The route toward the urban zone has been reworked, with additional cover points introduced for better engagement opportunities.

  3. Base Approach Changes (F1, G1, A4–A6, B4–B6)
The terrain on the route toward the base from the northwestern approach has been adjusted to make it easier for vehicles to close the distance. Similar changes have been made for the opposite side in A4–A6 and B4–B6.

  4. Northwest Flank Expansion (A1–A3, B1–B3, C1–C3)
The northwest flank has been widened, with additional cover and improved tactical options for combat in the area.

  5. Small City Balance (E3–E4)
Terrain height has been reduced to fix some overpowered lines of fire, and more playable space for light and medium tanks has been added.

  6. Base Accessibility Improvements (A8–A0)
Some adjustments have been made to terrain and bush placement to make the base more accessible.

  7. Firing Line Openings (F8)
Some forest has been removed and terrain lowered to open specific lines of fire.

Airfield

Small balance adjustments have been made following the major map changes in Update 1.28.1 to strengthen the eastern team.

  • Cave Adjustments
    • Opportunities inside the cave have been mirrored for both teams, while a balcony position has been added for the eastern team in E5–E6.
  • Vegetation Updates
    • Additional vegetation has been added across the map, particularly in the central oasis area (F4–F5). Bushes have been placed on popular sniper positions of the map (B1–B3, B7–B8, C2, C9, H4, H7) to enhance gameplay opportunities for light tanks and snipers.

Arcade Cabinet

The Equalize! game mode has been relaunched with updated HP for vehicles' internal and external modules.

Commanders,

The Update 2.0.1 Common Test is here, offering a glimpse of the improvements and activities to appear in the game soon. Expect adjustments to several maps, an event bonanza that includes a fresh chapter in the Mirium saga for Halloween and new launches for Arcade Cabinet: Equalize!, Frontline, Steel Hunter, and Stronghold Maneuvers, plus more!

All features in the Common Test are currently in active development. Any values, rewards, technical characteristics, and other feature settings relevant to the Common Test are not final and may not correspond to those in the release version.

Redrawn Maps

The changes to locations include balancing corrections for Airfield and Fjords, and serious refurbishment for Erlenberg, Highway, and Overlord, changing the way these maps are played.

Erlenberg

The new version of Erlenberg features a much larger castle. You can brawl there—and, should your side succeed, you can later shoot enemies in the fields and among the buildings from there, or use the slope leading to the center of the town. The vegetation has been trimmed in many areas, including the "island" by the red line (which both sides now can try to use for flanking the enemies in the castle) and the opposite flank, which has had its topography changed to even out the teams' opportunities. Three additional fords have appeared on the river flowing through the town.

Highway

The all-American map has gotten its fair share of alterations. The center now features more hills and vegetation, and is more welcoming for light and medium tanks; some shotlines in the area have been made less beneficial, but new ones have been opened. A gas station now lends cover when you move from the southern team's base to the town (or vice versa), and approaching both bases across the river is safer due to reshaped terrain and rearranged vegetation. The western flank has been expanded, with new cover added.

Overlord

The changes to this map are drastic. The playable zone has been moved inland by 200 meters, eliminating most of the coastal direction (now submerged) and creating a new one on the added territory—convenient for light and medium tanks but also with TD and arty positions. The map is now more whole, offering more opportunities for interaction between different directions. The topography of the hills in the center of the location has been improved to make the chances of the teams more even.

Babylon: Forbidden Zone

The story of Mirium goes on! It's time to meet swarms of echo tanks again, face new devious and destructive bosses, learn what happened after last year's Babylon Project, and earn new rewards and decorations.

Arcade Cabinet: Equalize!

The popular mode will return after Update 2.0.1 for two weekends. Before that, it will be featured in Common Test 1. Expect the same light-hearted fun with buffed HP stats. However, note that Tier XI vehicles won't be able to participate.

Steel Hunter

The tank battle royale will make a comeback after Update 2.0.1 hits, offering its unique kind of robust and thrilling gameplay that's well familiar to tankers—but with the interface improvements that came with Update 2.0. Try them out during the Common Test!

Frontline

The 30v30 tactical action on colossal maps has many enthusiasts in the player base who can expect it to return after Update 2.0.1 with familiar rules.

Stronghold: Maneuvers

Like the modes mentioned above, the clans-only Maneuvers event has its own signature gameplay and dedicated fans of the experience and the rewards. When it returns in November, the list of coveted prizes will be different again, keeping the  X ST-62 Version 2  and bringing back the  X T95/FV4201 Chieftain  after a long absence.
