What an amazing end to WGL APAC Season 1! Highs and lows were experienced throughout the weekend and the suspense never let up right to the last second of the tournament.

All three teams fought with all their hearts for the chance to assume the place of champion, which made for some incredibly exciting matches. In the end however, only one sole victor was chosen.

Day 1

PVP Super Friends vs. Team ARETE

Day 1: PVP Super Friends vs Team ARETE
With additional help from the OGN studio, this best of five was taken to an all new level of epic. Game #1 on Prokhorovka quickly descended into an amazing back-and-forth struggle betweenn PVP and ARETE, with the lead steadily leaning towards ARETE. Game #2 was followed up on Steppes, with PVP Super Friends staying ahead of ARETE one step at a time. That solidified into a win for Batman’s team, bringing the score to 1-1. Smooth exchanges and wise decision-making lead to Game #3 on mines falling into the hands of PVP Super Friends in an extremely exciting fashion. The fourth game was played out on Winter Himmelsdorf, with both teams possessing the same exact number of T1 Cunninghams, IS-3s, and AMX 50s. With PvP Super Friends on a roll, a chaotic team-fight turned the game into a victory for team ARETE after a capture forced the final hand from PVP super friends, eliminating the chance for a draw. In the final game, a major misstep from Batman led to a gradually declining stand for PVP Super Friends, ushering a victory for team ARETE in game #5, and thus the series. Team Efficiency vs. PVP Super Friends

Day 1: Team Efficiency vs PVP Super Friends
To give the readers of this battle report a perspective of just how chaotic the first round on Mines really was - the entirety of Game #1 lasted less than four minutes total. A few mistakes and mis-reads led to PVP Super Friends getting pushed against the center hill’s south side by Team Efficiency, where they got knocked out one by one. The second game was played out on Ensk, it became a very close game at some points, but with the luck of the RNG not favoring PVP this round, Team Efficiency took Game #2 after a brief bout of hide and seek in the final 30 seconds on the map. After a good series of close exchanges, Team Efficiency became the winners of this Bo5 series, putting PVP Super Friends at the bottom of the barrel for day number two’s competition. Another match to decide the final placement for teams in the Grand Finals, Game #1 on Ruinberg ended in a draw with only the destruction of both T1 Cunninghams, even though both teams were playing extremely passively. Game #2 on Cliffs on the other hand was a total slaughter after both teams rushed to the center of the map. artyworld of Team ARETE became its only casualty, while the rest of Team Efficiency was totaled in a matter of seconds. Team Efficiency lost the third and final game in a somewhat stunning fashion, putting them in second place with the chance to face off against PVP Super Friends again the next day. Winner Team ARETE VS Team Efficiency

Day 2: Team Efficiency vs Team ARETE
In an unexpected turn of events, Game #1 was swiftly taken by ARETE in a near-humiliating fashion for their opponent. However, Team Efficiency quickly proved to be worthy opponents as they brought it back in Game #2 on Cliffs with very solid performance. The score was now at 1-1. Game #3 was set in Prokhorovka, where neither team was willing to commit too much in a perceived gamble. The game eventually ended in a draw with a substantial damage lead given to Team Efficiency. Game #4 on Himmelsdorf showcased some amazing plays from both teams, but in the end ARETE came out on top, putting the score at 3-2. The final game was played on Steppes where Team Efficiency was gradually beginning to fall apart, exposing weaknesses and tactical mistakes. This culminated in ARETE securing the final win with an end score of 4-2 and becoming champions of WGL APAC Season 1. Winner Team ARETE VS Team Efficiency
