Gold Series Top 4 Playoffs – We Have A Winner! [Updated]

The first match of Tuesday night’s Gold Series Top 4 Playoffs began with a closely-fought battle on Himmelsdorf, which ended with ELONG eliminating the entire opposing team – Horsemen. But Lady Luck just wasn’t on ELONG’s side – an exceptionally long disconnect for NICE_ELONG_CN’s IS-3 at the second round’s start resulted in a forfeit in favour of Horsemen.

This means that Horsemen is now this Season’s top Gold Series team, and is guaranteed a spot in the WGL APAC Season 3 Finals. Congratulations, Horsemen! It’s been a tough climb to where they are now, but it’s a well-deserved victory indeed. ELONG, on the other hand, will still have a chance to join them at the Season Finals, depending on their performance in their next Playoff match.

It might have been a twist of fate that caused ELONG to forfeit their first round of matches, but it was undoubtedly their outstanding skill and force of will that helped them crawl their way back to the top. They’ve earned themselves second placing in the Gold Series, with Charlotte Tiger and Team Efficiency coming in at third and fourth respectively. Congrats to ELONG and all the other Gold Series teams on a job well done!
