ExpandEmerald Boxes: What's Inside?
Emerald Boxes will be available starting March 14. They come in bundles containing 5, 25, 50, or 150 Boxes and an equal number of missions for ×5 XP. Each Emerald Box will contain a reward from the list below with a particular drop chance:
- 1 of 10 Premium vehicles, including two brand-new ones—the T 54D and the Alembic (drop chance: 2%)
- From 5,000 to 250,000 Free XP (drop chance: 10%)
- One of the following: Crew Book or credits (drop chance: 75%)
- One of the following: Days of WoT Premium Account or Personal Reserves (drop chance: 100%)
- For every 50 Emerald Boxes you open, you are guaranteed one of the 10 Tier VIII–IX Premium vehicles. The counter is reset if a vehicle drops before you open your 50th Box.
- The Emerald Boxes will only drop vehicles that you don’t already have in your Garage.
- Once you have all 10 vehicles, the next vehicle drop will grant its value in gold instead.
- If you don’t open all your Emerald Boxes in time, they will open automatically at the end of the event.
Meet the Mighty and Sturdy T 54D!
Emerald Boxes may drop two fresh Premium tanks, each offering engaging playstyles. The first newcomer is the T 54D, a Tier IX German medium tank.
- Firepower
- Survivability
- Mobility
The T 54D is equipped with a powerful British L7 gun. It offers excellent penetration and accuracy with standard APCR shells with high velocity. Together with increased armor protection, this is the key feature of the T 54D.
High damage potential enhances the value of each shot, making it a potent force on the battlefield. To maximize firepower, prioritize well-calibrated shots to exploit enemy weaknesses and aim for critical hits. Utilize the tank's accuracy to engage targets from a distance, minimizing exposure to return fire. Use terrain to maintain advantageous positions and control engagement ranges. We also recommend aiming until the end of the sight circle, even if it seems too long.
The 5 degrees of gun depression is not as bad as for Soviet medium tanks, but it's not as comfortable as other vehicles. Take this into account, as it limits the tank's usability.
We highly recommend using a Vertical Stabilizer or Fire-Control System for this tank. The vehicle's gun handling isn't so comfortable, so each shot should be well-prepared. You'll need to be patient with this gun if you want to achieve good results.
This tank is based on the Soviet T-54 but has additional armor and screens on the hull and turret. These enhancements significantly increase effective armor and survivability, especially when angling the tank in a side-scraping position.
To fight effectively, exploit the all-around protection of the turret to exchange fire with higher-tier tanks confidently. Avoid exposing vulnerable areas like the hatches by constantly moving and utilizing terrain for cover.
Mobility is the central weak point of this tank. It's slower than the original T-54, but still faster than most heavy tanks (considering the strong armor of the T 54D, such a comparison with heavies is appropriate.). Matching up to medium tanks will be challenging, so keep in mind that the vehicle is meant for support rather than independent actions, especially in the early stages of the battle. Movements on the map should be deliberate, as they take extra time. To optimize mobility, install a Turbocharger as your high/top priority equipment.
However, installing one will affect stabilization, so the solution has two sides. We would advise maximizing all the strengths of the tank.
Shine on the Battlefield in the Mysterious Alembic!
The second new arrival is the amazing Alembic, a special version of the ASTRON Rex 105 mm. Small and compact, this American medium tank features a five-round autoloader with impressive burst damage (1,600 average if all shots penetrate). It comes in an eye-catching permanent 3D style never seen before in World of Tanks. Just look at this alchemy laboratory on tracks!
Emerald Boxes might also give you eight rare vehicles with different play styles. Each comes with a free Garage slot:
