Operation Flax, as part of the larger North African Campaign of World War II, was designed to cut of the air transports that the Axis armies in Tunis, Tunisia were recieving as support from Sicily. These air transports carried personnel and higher priority cargoes of the Germans. The Allied forces worked to destroy a total of 432 Axis transport aircraft during Flax, which dwindled the resources of the Axis units.
