Selective Fire Modes Mechanic

The twin guns of the  VIII FV226 Contradictious  allow you to switch seamlessly between two firing modes for tactical flexibility.

  • Single Fire mode fires and reloads each barrel alternately, ensuring consistent accuracy, stabilization, and aiming speed—perfect for sustained damage and steady play.
  • Salvo Fire mode is the best choice for close-range combat and brawls. It fires both barrels in a powerful double-shot burst, causing twice the damage. However, the extra power comes at a cost. While it boosts gun stabilization and damage output, your vehicle's mobility, accuracy, turret traverse speed, and aiming time are temporarily reduced.

Switching between modes is quick and does not disrupt your current reload, letting you adapt instantly to the battlefield conditions. However, you can only shoot when both barrels are loaded, doubling the reload time after a shot in Salvo Fire mode. Even switching to Single Fire mode after a double shot requires both barrels to be loaded before you can take your next shot.

The VIII Caliban brings menacing firepower to any battlefield with its two-shell autoreloader. HE rounds inflict a devastating 850 HP of damage with 180 mm of penetration, while AP shells hit for 600 HP and pierce 292 mm of armor. With 10° of gun depression and good frontal armor, you can use hull-down positions efficiently. Just be mindful about using the second shell. Save it for finishers and the most critical situations.
