[In-Game Mission] Battle of Hürtgen Forest

Deep within the Hürtgen Forest, a series of fierce battles was fought from 19 September to 16 December 1944. The German and American troops spent months in that forest, making this battle the longest battle for the U.S. Army and the longest ground battle for German troops during World War II.

It's during this battle that the German soldier Friedrich Lengfeld helped a wounded American soldier out of the "Wild Sow" minefield, after which he sustained severe injuries that proved to be fatal. A momument is dedicated to Lengfeld at the Hürtgen Military Cemetery, dedicated to him by the U.S. veterans of the 4th Infantry Division.
