We know quite well that waiting for the end of update downloading and installing it on the release day is hardly convenient. We suggest our players to test a new approach and download Update 9.22 in advance, starting from 1st February, 18:30 UTC+8. Update pre-downloading will decrease the load on the game services on the day of the official release. Having pre-downloaded the update, players will be able to join the game right after release: without a delay and tedious waiting.
Please note that this is just a test of a new process and it does not mean that this distribution method will be introduced on the permanent basis.

What is pre-downloading?
This is the pre-downloading of files for a future update (approximate size: 400 MB for the SD-client and additional 200 MB for the HD-client) that will be installed only on the day of the official release. The installation will be performed after starting the launcher once the work on the game servers is over.
Enable the Allow Update Pre-Downloading option in the launcher settings (enabled by default) to start pre-downloading.
Will the update 9.22 pre-downloading somehow affect the possibility of playing WoT?
It will not, players will be able to play WoT whenever they want. However, this function enabled, the downloading will be automatically paused and resumed right after quitting the game. You can pause the downloading process at any moment.
Where will the update files be stored? Can I copy them to a portable drive and share with a friend?
Yes, you will be able to share them with your friends, since the update files will be stored in in the standard folder on your computer С:\Games\World_of_Tanks\Updates (or, if your friend has installed the game in another folder Your drive:\Games\World_of_Tanks\Updates).
If I click the Pause button in the launcher, will the downloading be resumed the next time or should I start the downloading anew?
It will resume.
Can I select SD/HD options during pre-downloading?
No, only the files that correspond to the currently installed version will be downloaded.
