Born on 08 February 1820, William Tecumseh Sherman was an American military general during the American Civil War.
Credited as a master of "maneuver warfare", his use of strategy and tactics would in turn influence Heinz Guderian's deployment of tanks used in his Blitzkrieg tactics, and General George S. Patton's planning in World War II.
In World of Tanks, his name is borne by the Sherman tank line.
