In November 2018, we launched an Asia-only matchmaker experiment aimed at improving the combat experience for all players on the server. This experiment is ongoing and we continue to collect all your feedback which has been extremely helpful in shaping the direction we want to take with the matchmaker going forward.
In December last year, we outlined that 2019 would be a big year for the matchmaker globally. A key element of our overall plan is the introduction and testing of a brand-new architecture, which we expect to provide the flexibility and adaptability we need for the future. We intend to test the stability and resiliency of this new architecture in APAC with the release of 1.4.
What does this mean for you?
The short answer is the current matchmaking experience should not change after the introduction of the new architecture. The matchmaker configurations and patterns will remain the same, so players should not see a major difference.
IMPORTANT: As before, please do share your feedback, impressions and suggestions; and if you do notice a significant change in your experience then be sure to let us know. We will continue to monitor the situation after the change and are ready to act if we see anything unexpected occurring.
