Tank Commanders,
We’re planning a few new things for the Community Contributor program in 2019, and this is just one of them.
Each month, we will be featuring one of our local CCs to help you get to know them a bit better, and allow you to find their content easier by supporting it more prominently across our channels.
To kick things off, the featured CC in January is one of our Australian locals - Mystblade!
So tell us about yourself! Where are you from? What clan are you in? How long have you been a community contributor?
My name is Zac Butler and I am a 30 year old (although my hair states otherwise) dad from Adelaide, South Australia. Currently I am in Second Armoured Regiment - Special Forces Detachment, better known as -2AR-. We are a great bunch of guys who are making strides into being competitive on the Clan Wars map and have made good progress in that regard over the last season.
I have been part of the Community Contributor program since April 2018.
What are your top three favourite tanks and why?
My three favourite tanks currently would have to be the T-34-85/M as the tech tree variant ( VI T-34-85 ) was my first and only tank I have three-marked, and the Premium version the VI T-34-85M I think I am currently sitting at ~91% on MoE.
I also am really enjoying the IX Object 430 ; great turret, great mobility and great armour for a medium tank. You can feel comfortable fighting and bullying other mediums and even take on heavies. This is a great tank and I can't wait to reach the Tier X of the line - the X Object 430U .
And thirdly - although I have only played it a few times and it is going to take a lot of getting used to - I am really enjoying the Panhard EBR 75 FL 10. The craziness that ensues when driving that thing is incredibly entertaining. It is going to take a bit of learning to get the most out of the tank and the 310 base view range in conjunction with paper armour means that you not only have to get in close to spot, but in doing so you could be risking your life. Also I can't wait to see the -1AR- shenanigans and races that will undoubtedly happen with this thing.
How often do you usually stream/post videos, and what does your content usually focus on?
I usually stream 3-4 times a week, generally starting around 19:00 UTC+8.
I also put out stuff on YouTube and try to upload content at a minimum of twice a week. I am currently focusing on replay commentary, clips and games from my stream while also working on content centered around some of the fundamentals of WoT, which will be targeted towards the newer players, as well as some content on non-World of Tanks games.
I am currently going through a revitalisation of my YouTube channel and will be continually trying to improve the content and production quality. So if you have any good replays, feel free to send them my way and you never know - you might just be featured on my channel!
What's the single best tip you could give someone trying to improve at World of Tanks?
Patience and persistence, both within a match and outside of it. You will not be able to learn everything instantly. But remember, if you are able to keep your tank alive longer, it is going to improve your performance.
And what's the best tip you could give someone trying to improve their content creation?
Again, persistence and consistency are key; streaming and content creation is not easy especially when you are balancing it around family and life. Don't be too happy with where you are currently! Never rest on your laurels and always continue to look for areas where you can improve.
