Whether you have been with us since launch, or only recently jumped into the World of Tanks universe, you may be aware that the game has a lot of history. Over the years, the game has grown up, adding new features, game modes, tanks, maps and even going through a complete rebuild with the launch of 1.0 last year. As an example, when we launched back in 2011, we started with 130 tanks in the game. Today, we have more than 500 tanks to play with. That’s a lot of tanks to learn and play styles to master!
We have a long term vision for Tanks, which we try to balance with the feedback we receive from you, our players. Sometimes this can also mean experimenting with tweaks and adjustments on a specific server to try and improve the local game experience. The matchmaking experiment was a successful example of this approach in Asia and this year we want to continue to experiment with some of our core systems.
What sorts of experiments are we planning?
We have several ideas we want to test and will share more details when the time is right, but put simply we are looking at all elements of the core experience for you as a player.
With so much content for you to explore, we want to make sure the experience is as enjoyable as possible and helps you make the most of your time with the game. Therefore one area we are currently looking at is post-match rewards.
What does this mean for you?
From a gameplay perspective, absolutely nothing. However, over the coming months, you may start to see some incremental increases in your post-match rewards. That’s it.
Meanwhile, thanks to many of you, we have a treasure trove of feedback we are digging into to determine what we should focus on next.
So get out on the battlefield, earn your victories and collect some awesome new tanks.
See you there!
