In a war, armoured vehicles are usually created with the enemy in mind. When the British created the Churchill VII, they were facing possible invasion from Germany. Knowing that German technology is not to be underestimated, they piled the armour on the Churchill VII as thick as possible. (Unfortunately, on the same engine as the Churchill I, making it one of the slowest Tier VI vehicles in World of Tanks.)
Despite the vehicle's drawbacks, the Churchill VII managed to draw positive outcomes from battles in Normandy.
