It’s been another year of hype, amazing matches, and incredible competition across our different teams within the ANZ Premier League. Yet, we’ll always want more. Redemption. Clutch playmaking. Passion and heart break, all on a knife’s edge within the series. With that in mind, we are proud to announce Season Four of the ANZPL!
Introduction
Once again, Premier League Season Four will be a 10-week tournament, starting around mid-March, running every Friday and eventually culminating in a live Saturday final at Fortress Melbourne (full dates TBD, LAN will depend on current circumstances and context).
Format
- Eight teams
- 5v5 Tier X
- Seven players per team (two reserves)
- Brothers in Arms tanks only (excludes EBR and Reward Vehicles)
Note: Further Season Four information, including dates, league revisions, prizes and more will be confirmed closer to the the Season Four Draft.
Teams
No change to the previous season – teams will consist of five players plus two reserves. Teams will require a minimum of three players from their home State/Island, with the rest of the slots open to players from any State or Island.
ANZ Premier League Draft
Similar to previous seasons, the Draft will be based on the Season Three inverted ranking, so the bottom placed team (Christchurch Conqueror) pick first, and our champions (Melbourne Matildas) picking last. Prior to this, teams will be required to draft State players first if their team does not meet the pre-requisite listed above.
This process will be repeated until all teams have seven players.
The Draft is currently scheduled for Thursday, the 3rd of February 2022, coming hot out of the gates with your favourite WeeGees JayRated and KaRath on the WorldofTanks ANZ Twitch channel!
Note: Just like Season Three, there are no trials, therefore, being in the Draft does not guarantee a position on our teams.
ALSO NOTE: However, UNLIKE previous seasons, this will be the LAST season where all applicants will be eligible for the Draft. In future Seasons, all Draftees will be required to have played at least one full ANZPL or ANZBL season.
Applications:
Applications are already open and will close on the 16th of January at 11:59 AEDT (UTC +11). Applications will be on an individual basis, with your alias and home State/Territory/Island being the required information.
This application will then place you within the Draft for selection. By signing up for this Draft, and ANZPL as a result, you are agreeing that you will play for any team if drafted, and if you pull out of a team after being selected, this may forfeit your rights to play and participate in any future Premier League Seasons.
The Season
Once again, the season will begin around Mid-March (exact date TBC), with matches every Friday night from 7PM until 11PM UTC +11 (after Daylight Savings, this will switch to 6PM to 10PM UTC +10).
The seven weeks of regular competition will then culminate in three tense weeks of play-offs, where the Grand Final to determine the Season Four champion will be in-venue at Fortress Melbourne (presuming no lockdown/border closures preventing the event from occurring).
Leaderboards, Fantasy League, recaps, and schedules will be updated weekly on the Portal, and across our social media accounts.
