Tell us a bit about yourself!

G’day guys, what’s happening! My name is NatoPotato, I am a variety streamer and entertainer from Perth Western Australia. I stream full time on Twitch and when I am not streaming I work in real-estate helping people get into new homes, I also run a technical drawing business on the side designing and planning fire systems for companies. I love to stay fit, exercising every day, most days morning and night, not to forget mental training as well to keep on top of everything I have going on. Any spare time I get is spent with my lovely fiancé, feather baby (Alfie) and soon to be baby daughter. Gaming is a huge passion of mine since a very young age, I will never forget being hospitalized from playing too much ‘Super Mario Bros’ on the Super Nintendo and having to get a large cyst removed from my wrist due to the constant button pressing. To this day my parents still think it’s a phase, I don’t think they realize I am 26 now and don’t plan on stopping any time soon!

What got you into Twitch streaming and what do you enjoy the most about it?

I hit a point in my life where I unfortunately found myself unemployed and almost unemployable due to a couple of poor business decisions. After endless job applications daily and only so many jobs to apply for, I found myself spending the rest of the day enjoying some of my favourite games. I thought to myself, if I am doing this I might as well give streaming a go, and share the passion I have with the world and hope to make a difference in people’s lives. The thing I enjoy most in the world is not what happens on stream but what happens off stream. When I get personal messages from community members saying that I saved them or helped them through a rough situation in life it makes me so happy to know I am making a difference, even if it seems small. This motivates me and drives me further to help as many people as I possibly can, and I wouldn’t give it up for the world.

How do you make your stream stand out?

I pride myself in my ability to entertain and put in 110% at all times, using special effects and pushing streaming software to the limits, causing people to instantly take notice and feel engaged with the stream and community. My setup involves various green screens that reward subs and donations with elaborately set up full-body dancing scenes, which is what people know me for. If you want to stand out, you need to be willing to not only work on your stream but also on yourself.

How have you found interacting with the broader Twitch Community?

The majority of the Twitch community is filled with absolutely incredible people who all have a common interest, gaming. Being able to interact with people that all have a common interest is one of the best feelings in the world. I love meeting new people from all over and learning as much as I can about them; it is surprising how much everyone has in common!

What do you find most challenging about streaming a game for the first time?

I strive to be entertaining as much as I possibly can, and when I get stuck trying to learn something new or figure something out, I feel like I am running the entertaining progression that I like to bring to stream. I often experience this in a lot of new games I haven’t played before. I know that it’s all a part of the experience, but I really like things to flow as smoothly as possible.
