Ranked Battles Season X: General Overview

Season X is a stand-alone game event that will be held in a test format and is not associated with the upcoming cycle of Ranked Battles 2021–2022. You won’t earn Rank Tokens or Annual Rewards, but you’ll have a chance to participate and provide feedback, thereby contributing and helping us make decisions about the future of Ranked Battles while earning cool Season X rewards. Take an active part in this experimental event and let us know what you think by filling out the relevant survey. Your opinion is important to us!

For the test Season, there will be 10 vehicles instead of 15 on each side. To make the battle format even more consistent with the highly competitive spirit of Ranked Battles, we’ve reduced the number of players per team. This will increase the importance of your personal skills and give you greater influence over the outcome of each battle. Plus, reducing the number of players will:

  • give teams more room to maneuver and implement various tactics.
  • reduce battle density and increase average battle duration.
  • increase the value of teamwork.

The test Season will run for two weeks instead of the usual three before ending on July 12. Shortening its duration will make battles even more intense. The value of each victory will increase, so you will have extra motivation to push yourself to the limit and fight to the last in every battle!

These changes will also affect the matchmaker. During the event, no more than 1 SPG and 2 light tanks will be sent into battle per team.

Together, these changes will emphasize the competitive nature that has always been the most important feature of Ranked Battles. Your contribution to your team’s victory will become more meaningful and valuable.

In Season X, you can still earn Battle Pass Points.

Progression System

In Season X, we'll adapt the progression system to the new battle format to make it more achievable. The number of chevrons you need to earn to move from one rank to another to qualify for Leagues will be reduced from 83 to 70. Now it will be easier for you to get new ranks and reach Leagues.

The distribution of chevrons has also been adapted to the mode’s changed format. Chevrons will be credited according to the following rules:

We've added new filters to the Season Leaderboard, so you can now search for your friends and clanmates to compare their results with your battle performance.

Role Experience System Rework

We’ve also updated the Role Experience system. All vehicle roles have been given new, more precise names, and their actions now better match the vehicles’ characteristics and purpose in battle. For example, heavy tank destroyers (the Jagdpanzer E 100 and other TDs) will not only need to block damage and trade HP, but also deal damage at close range. Assault medium tanks (the Object 430U and other mediums) will now gain Role XP for blocking damage and trading HP.

Season X also introduces one new role—the "versatile heavy tank". Vehicles like the Super Conqueror or the T110E5 will perform this role. To effectively fulfill their role, these tanks need to block damage, trade HP, and deal damage to vehicles in their view range upon spotting them.
