Tank Commanders,
The Tiger family of German vehicles comes together for Tiger Day IX at The Tank Museum in Bovington, England.
This special day marks the 75th anniversary of the capture of
VI
Tiger 131
in Tunisia during World War 2. During the event, Tiger 131 will make appearances alongside other vehicles.
VI
Tiger 131
is currently the only operational specimen of the
VII
Tiger I
in the world.
On 20th April 1943, in the dead of night, German forces in North Africa attacked Allied positions to disrupt their preparations for the coming push to capture the capital city of Tunis.
The attack was ultimately unsuccessful. The Germans were driven back, and 1 of the 2 Tigers they had brought along was abandoned by the wounded crew and captured mostly intact by the British.
This Tiger bore the turret number "131". This is the very same Tiger 131 now located in Bovington.
You may not be able to own and run the physical
VI
Tiger 131
right now, but you can certainly command it in World of Tanks!
This is your chance to own a piece of history and complete your collection of historical vehicles.
