74 years ago today, the Western Allies landed on the beaches of Normandy as part of Operation Overlord, the largest amphibious invasion in modern history.

Fierce fighting took place on the beaches and in the hedgerows of the French countryside as the Allies forged the path to Paris to end the German occupation of France.

In commemoration of this event, we're running the Operation Overlord event, by which you can earn tons of consumables by using US, French, or German vehicles.

Excellent frontal hull and turret armour: difficult to kill when in hull-down position
Great penetration (232/263/50) allows you to reliably penetrate enemy vehicles
Good gun depression
Good mobility
Decent accuracy

What's Not:

Weak side and rear armour
Ammo rack easily damaged
Poor ground resistance
Low alpha damage and damage per minute
Long aim time

APCR Standard Ammo: Good penetration (230/259/45) and high shell velocity
Good damage per minute: High rate of fire
Good gun depression
Large and thick gun mantlet can deflect incoming fire
High ammo capacity

What's Not:

Low alpha damage (more comparable to a medium tank)
Frontal hull and turret cheek armour don't reliably bounce incoming rounds: May not do well in hull-down positions
Low accuracy compared to Tier VIII heavies

Excellent gun characteristics: Accurate, fast aim time, low gun dispersion, high rate of fire
Great gun depression: Can fire upon enemies while presenting only the armoured front of the turret
Good overall mobility
