Teams
Teams this year will be made up of five players plus two reserves, an expansion over the previous season. As team rosters will be increasing in size, to maintain a high caliber of player skill at the top of our community, we’ve decided to consolidate to eight teams in the top flight, however, should we receive enough interest in ANZPL Season Two, we will consider running a second division. Some teams will be fielding similar rosters as last season. With the exception of the Cairns Comets, all teams will be returning in Season Two, with positions available on every team. A handful of existing Premier League players are returning to the Draft, however there are still several positions available.
ANZ Premier League Draft
This year as we already have established teams, the Draft will be following a slightly different structure. Firstly, there will be a round for teams who require a state representative to fulfill the minimum of three state representatives per team. This means that only players from the same state as the team will be able to be chosen initially. Once all teams have their core of three state reps confirmed, we move on to the traditional Draft.
The traditional Draft pick order will have the teams with the smallest existing roster picking first based upon an inverted Season One ladder order until rosters are full.
The Draft will be held and hosted on the WorldofTanksANZ Twitch Channel by Vondle and JayRated on Thursday the 18th of February. Each team will submit their Draft picks, and over the course of the night will fill the teams out with their remaining players for the official roster.
NOTE: As there are no trials this year, being a part of the Draft does not guarantee you a position on one of the teams. However, should you not be picked in the Draft and we have enough players to field a second division, we will follow up and see if you are interested in participating in the second tier.
Applications
Applications open today and close on Monday the 15th of February at 11:59PM UTC+11. You will apply on an individual basis nominating your home State, Territory or Island.
Your application will put you straight in the Draft for selection.
By signing up for ANZPL you are agreeing that you will play for any team if drafted, and pulling out of a team after being selected will prevent you from participating in future Premier League seasons.
As mentioned above, if we get an overwhelming amount of applications, we will explore the possibility of an additional division, including trials.
NOTE: Players will be subject to vetting based on their history of conduct and activity at Tier X.
The Season
The season rolls out on Friday the 12th of March, broadcast every Friday night from 7PM till 11PM UTC+11 for eight weeks on the WorldofTanksANZ Twitch Channel.
Eight weeks of fierce competition will bring us to the Playoffs with the Semi-Finals being held on the 7th of May, the Battle for Third being held on the 14th of May and the in-venue Grand Final at Fortress Melbourne on Saturday the 22nd of May. This of course is as long as there is no lockdown, or any border closures which would prevent it running. If your team is in the finals flights and accommodation will be provided.
Leaderboards will be constantly updated on the Portal, with each week's games and schedule posted weekly both here and across our socials.
