It is our absolute pleasure to announce the Third Season of the World of Tanks Australia and New Zealand Premier League. The first season was a wild ride, the second filled with some of the most incredible matches to date and rivalries ready to ignite yet again in Season Three.
Introduction
The Premier League Season Three will be an 11-week tournament running from Friday the 3rd of September till the Finals held on Saturday the 13th of November LIVE at Fortress Melbourne in a special on-ground event (permitted by no COVID lockdown or restrictions).
Format
- 8 Teams
- Team size: 5 players + 2 reserves
- 5v5 Tier X
- Brothers in Arms tanks only (excluding EBR and Reward Vehicles)
NOTE: There may be changes to battle length and format in Season 3. This will be detailed along with the prize pool (including physical prizes) in the Season 3 Draft List Article.
Teams
Teams will be made up of five players plus two reserves, the same as last season. Each team will need a minimum of three players from their home State. The other four players are allowed to be from any State or Island.
ANZ Premier League Draft
The Drafting process will be different from last year. It will no longer be based on the number of missing players to fill out the roster, but solely on the Season Two inverted ranking. This means the bottom team from Season Two will pick first (The Perth Panthers), and the winners will pick last (The North Sydney Sentinels). However, teams will still need to draft State members first if they don’t have the required minimum of three. This process will continue in rounds until every team has seven players.
The Draft is scheduled to be held on Thursday the 12th of August, hosted LIVE by Vondle and JayRated on our WorldofTanksANZ Twitch Channel
NOTE: As there are no trials again for Season Three, being a part of the Draft does not guarantee you a position on one of the teams.
Applications
Applications open today and close on the 1st of August at 11:59PM UTC+11. You will apply on an individual basis nominating your home State, Territory or Island.
Your application will put you straight in the Draft for selection. By signing up for ANZPL you are agreeing that you will play for any team if drafted, and pulling out of a team after being selected will prevent you from participating in future Premier League seasons.
The Season
The season rolls out on Friday the 3rd of September, broadcast every Friday night from 6PM till 10PM UTC+10 (switching to 7PM till 11PM UTC+11 during Daylight Savings Time) for eight weeks on the WorldofTanksANZ Twitch Channel.
Eight weeks of fierce competition will bring us to the Playoffs with the Semi-Finals being held on Friday the 29th of October. The Battle for Third will follow, taking place on Friday the 5th of November. This will bring us to the in-venue Grand Final at Fortress Melbourne on Saturday the 13th of November, as long as there is no lockdown, or any border closures which would prevent it running. If your team is in the finals flights and accommodation will be provided.
Leaderboards will be constantly updated on the Portal, with each week's games and schedule posted weekly both here and across our socials.
