Metal Wars - Regulations

Introduction

The Metal Wars event will last from 29 June - 13 July.

Throughout this large-scale game event, clans and players can earn Fame Points.

  • Players earn Fame Points for participation in battles, and can exchange them for personal bonuses that increase the gain of personal Fame Points at any time during the event. When the event is over, these accumulated personal Fame Points can be exchanged for various rewards.
  • After each battle, players will receive various resources that can be used in the Workshop to acquire Premium vehicles.
  • Clans will earn Fame Points both in battle and by completing special conditions. At any time during the event, clans may convert clan Fame Points into Research Points.
  • Research Points can be invested into various technologies that increase the gain of clan Fame Points and simplify the clan's actions on the map. If done effectively, clans which wisely invest earned Fame Points will earn even more clan Fame Points during battles.

The clans that achieve the best balance between earning Fame Points and investing them into technologies, while achieving good results in battles, will stand the best chance of success in the event.

Please note that in addition to event regulations, the general Clan Wars rules continue to apply, and violations of said rules may result in temporary/permanent game bans and/or disqualification from Clan Wars activities. Be sure to read through them by clicking on the spoiler below!

Special Rules

Within Metal Wars, various complex mechanics and conditions (that are similar to those of previous events) will be used. Below is a brief glossary meant to simplify the mechanics that are described in this document:

  • Resources & Components: Resources are game items received after each Global Map battle. They can be processed into Components in the Workshop.
  • Workshop & Production Queue: A new mechanic that allows players to process the Resources collected to create Components, which are then used to produce Premium vehicles via the Production Queue.
  • Experimental Modules: A set of special modules that improve various characteristics of vehicles. Used only within the event. One-time use. Given to all participants in a limited and fixed amount. They cannot be replenished.
  • Fronts: The playing field is divided into three fronts, each having different access conditions and mechanics. Each subsequent front has fewer provinces, tougher competition, and better rewards.
  • Bonuses: Clan boosts that are available from provinces and received by the clans that own them.
  • Technologies: Special advantages received by clans through investment of previously-earned Fame Points.
  • Laboratory: Vendor of technologies. Technologies can be purchased for Research Points (that can be obtained only by exchanging clan Fame Points).
  • Investment: A special mechanic to exchange clan Fame Points for Research Points (required for purchasing technologies). When using the Investment functionality, if a clan owns provinces on the Event Fronts, that clan will automatically be removed from the map.
  • Landing Auction: A hybrid of landing and auction, where some clans make landing bids in clan Fame Points and others participate in the auction via bonuses and technologies.
  • Clan Tasks: Tasks that allow the earning of clan Fame Points, Research Points, and various technologies.
  • Personal Bonuses: Special bonuses received by players in exchange for personal Fame Points.
  • Personal Rewards: Various rewards that can be received by players in exchange for accumulated personal Fame Points when the event is over.

The Workshop

The Workshop is a special mechanic that is accessible through the in-game Clan Dashboard during the Metal Wars event. It allows players to use the Resources earned after battles to produce Tier VII - VIII Premium vehicles.

Earning Resources

Players can earn Resources from Global Map battles, based on the following factors. All team members will receive the same amount of Resources.

  • Battles fought on the Elite front will grant the most Resources, followed by the Advanced front and finally the Basic front, which gives the least Resources.
  • Battles on regular provinces will give more Resources than battles on landing provinces or landing auctions (excluding battles against the province owner).
  • More Resources will be granted for a Victory than a Defeat.
  • The greater the number of enemy vehicles destroyed at the end of the battle, the more Resources the team will receive, regardless of who destroyed them.
  • Destroying more enemy vehicles that are equipped with Experimental Modules will earn the team additional Resources.
  • The amount of Resources earned in each battle will be recorded in a battle log within the Workshop. This battle log will become available a few days after the Workshop opens.

Resources may be used in the Workshop to build Components, which can then be used to assemble any of the following Premium vehicles the player does not already own:

Types of Resources

Scrap is the basic Resource unit. It can instantly be processed in the Workshop to obtain Ferrous and Non-ferrous metals, as well as Spare Parts. If necessary, these Resources can instantly be broken back down into Scrap again, but bear in mind that less Scrap will be restored than the original amount used to obtain them.

Resources can be used to produce Components for building Premium vehicles with: parts for the engine, armor, chassis, armament, metalware, and tools.

Both Components and vehicles take time to assemble; simply add each item to the Production Queue to begin. Only one item can be assembled at a time, and any items removed from the queue (including the item currently undergoing production) will be returned to the inventory in full as Resources.

IMPORTANT! Production takes time–a Tier VII vehicle requires 15 days and a Tier VIII vehicle requires 16 days to assemble. Be sure to select your desired vehicle for production in advance, as time is limited and only 1 Premium vehicle can be produced during the event.

The Workshop will be available until the end of the Fame Points reward exchange period (31 July 2020, 05:00 UTC +8), after which all unused Resources will be removed.
Any assembled vehicles will be credited to players within a few days after the Bond Auction results are finalised.

Experimental Modules

During the event, players will receive a limited supply of 18 Experimental Modules (3 of each type) to improve their tanks' performance on the Global Map.

Module Effect

Fire Control System

+30% to gun stabilization

-5% to vehicle durability

Additional Armor Plating

+20% to vehicle durability

+30% to vehicle weight

Air Conditioning System

+30% to major qualification of all crew members

Composite Spall Liners

+5% to vehicle durability

+10% to vehicle weight

Supercharging System

+20% to engine power

Heavy Charges

+15% damage

+20% increased aiming time

Experimental Modules cannot be mounted on SPGs.

Vehicles equipped with Experimental Modules will be marked by special indicators on the battle interface.

Only one Module can be mounted per vehicle, and it can be demounted or remounted freely. It will be consumed after the battle regardless of whether the vehicle survives (except in the event of a technical victory). Be sure to save them for important battles!

After the event, all unused Modules will be removed.

Playing Field

  1. The playing field is divided into three fronts: Basic, Advanced, and Elite.
  2. Prime-Times (all Fronts): 16:00 UTC +8 - 23:00 UTC +8 (last turn starts at 22:00 UTC +8)

Fronts

  • There are three fronts with different access conditions, strategic mechanics, and amounts of personal and clan Fame Points to be earned.
  • Each province of the Global Map has 1 or 2 bonuses that provide strategic advantages to the clan that owns them.
  • The bonus distribution at the provinces remains unchanged throughout the event.

1. Basic Front

  1. On the Basic front, Fame Points can be earned only through battles.
  2. Battle format: 10v10, Tier IX - X
  3. The Basic front consists of 117 provinces.
  4. Prime-Time: 16:00 - 23:00 UTC +8 (last turn starts at 22:00 UTC +8)
  5. Applications for landings in the territory of the Basic front are available to any clan with at least 10 members who own a Tier X vehicle. A maximum of 10 simultaneous landing applications are available.
  6. Dynamic landings are available in the territory of the Basic front .

2. Advanced Front

  1. On the Advanced front, Fame Points can be earned both through battles and by owning provinces.
  2. Battle format: 15v15, Tier X only
  3. The Advanced front consists of 49 provinces.
  4. Prime-Time: 16:00 - 23:00 UTC +8 (last turn starts at 22:00 UTC +8)
  5. Applications for landings in the territory of the Advanced front are available to any clan with at least 15 members who own a Tier X vehicle. A maximum of 6 simultaneous landing applications are available.
  6. There are four ways to gain access to provinces of the Advanced front:
    • Capture a province that allows application for a landing auction at the Advanced front.
    • Purchase the Advanced front landing auction application technology from the Lab.
    • Make a bid (in Fame Points) for a landing auction. The minimum bid at the Advanced front is 100 clan Fame Points (see 'Landing Auctions at Provinces of the Advanced and Elite Fronts' rules section below).
    • Complete the "Experienced Raider" clan tasks (see 'Clan Tasks' rules section below).
  7. Provinces of the Advanced front provide a 10% bonus to Fame Points earned in battles (as compared to the Basic front, see 'Fame Points' rules section)
  8. Owning a province at the Advanced front is rewarded with Fame Points; the number awarded decreases for each day of ownership. Fame Points are added during the calculation of the next turn, when battles in the province are over. If a clan leaves the map before the turn calculation, it will not receive these clan Fame Points.

Duration of Advanced Front Province ownership (Play Days) Clan Fame Points awarded
    1 4,000
    2 3,000
    3 2,000
    4 1,000
    5+ 0
Therefore, if a clan captures a province of the Advanced front for the first time, it receives 4,000 clan Fame Points. If the clan maintains ownership of the province for the second day, it receives 3,000 clan Fame Points; 2,000 clan Fame Points for the third day, and so on.
  9. When a province is captured more than once in succession (excluding capture after Investment), the bonus remains unchanged, as if the clan has continued to own it. For example, a clan owns a province for three days, then loses it and re-captures it on the following day. In this case, the clan will receive 1,000 clan Fame Points for the first day of repeated ownership and 0 clan Fame Points for the following day.
  10. Investment resets the counter of province ownership, and if it is captured again, the schedule of awarded income starts anew.

3. Elite Front

  1. On the Elite front, Fame Points can be earned through battlesby owning provinces, and for the number of provinces owned.
  2. Battle format: 15v15, Tier X only
  3. The Elite front consists of 15 provinces.
  4. Prime-Time: 16:00 - 23:00 UTC +8 (last turn starts at 22:00 UTC +8)
  5. Applications for landings in the territory of the Elite front are available to any clan with at least 15 members who own a Tier X vehicle. A maximum of 6 simultaneous landing applications are available.
  6. There are two ways of gaining access to provinces of the Elite front:
    • Purchase the Elite front landing auction application technology from the Lab.
    • Make a bid (in Fame Points) for a landing auction. The minimum bid at the Elite front is 10,000 clan Fame Points (see 'Landing Auctions at Provinces of the Advanced and Elite Fronts' rules section below).
  7. Provinces of the Elite front provide a 20% bonus to Fame Points earned in battles (as compared to the Basic front, see 'Fame Points' rules section)
  8. Just like at the Advanced front, owning a province at the Elite front is rewarded with Fame Points; the number awarded decreases for each day of ownership. Fame Points are added during the calculation of the next turn, when battles in the province are over.

Duration of Elite Front Province ownership (Play Days) Clan Fame Points awarded
    1 12,000
    2 9,000
    3 6,000
    4 3,000
    5+ 0
  9. At the end of a play day, clans that own groups of provinces (4 or more) in the territory of the Elite front are rewarded with additional clan Fame Points, depending on the number of provinces owned, when all battles on the provinces are over.

Number of Elite front provinces owned clan Fame Points awarded
    1 0
    2
    3
    4 18,000
    5
    6 36,000
    7
    8+ 90,000
Clan Fame Points received for owning groups of provinces are added at the end of a playing day (at approximately 04:00 UTC +8). However, if a clan starts Investment while owning a group of provinces in the Elite front, it will receive Research points in full, for all clan Fame Points, including the reward for owning a group of provinces.

If a clan retains ownership of its provinces until the end of the battles on the provinces and then leaves the Global Map (not by starting Investment), it will receive clan Fame Points.
  10. Vehicle lock is ON in battles for provinces in the Elite front.
    • Vehicles destroyed in any battle in the territory of the Elite front get locked for 36 hours. Upon winning a battle against the province owner, vehicles get locked for 18 hours.
    • The vehicle lock time can be decreased using special technology (available from the Lab).
    • Locked vehicles can be used in battles in the territory of the Basic and Advanced fronts.

Improvements for Clans

Clans can use various bonuses and technologies to accelerate the acquisition of Fame Points.

These are divided into two groups:

  • Technologies that can be purchased from the Lab for Research Points, or received as rewards by completing clan tasks
  • Bonuses enjoyed by capturing and owning provinces that provide such bonuses.

The effects of bonuses and technologies stack - see more details below.

1. Research Points and Investment

  1. Investment is a special mechanic to exchange clan Fame Points for Research Points (at a particular exchange rate). The exchange rate can be improved using particular technologies.
  2. Accumulated clan Fame Points can be exchanged in full or in part. The more clan Fame Points exchanged, the higher the exchange rate. The number of clan Fame Points to be exchanged can be set when starting Investment.
  3. When using this mechanic, all pending auction bids are cancelled and the clan leaves the Global Map; all accumulated clan Fame Points are exchanged for Research Points. Only the clan leader or Executive Officers can use the Investment functionality.
  4. The exchange of Fame Points for research Points is performed after the calculation for the nearest turn.
  5. Investment cannot be started if the Prime-Time has begun in provinces where the clan has battles scheduled.
  6. Once Investment is complete, the full bonus from provinces in the Advanced and Elite fronts can once again be awarded (subsections 4 and 5 of the respective Fronts' rules).
  7. The exchange of Fame Points for Research Points is irreversible; i.e. Research Points cannot be exchanged for Fame Points. Be careful when performing exchanges, especially at the end of the event!

2. The Laboratory

  1. The Lab is a special store where Research Points can be spent on various technologies.
  2. All currently active improvements of the clan can be viewed in the Lab.

3. Clan Bonuses

  1. Each province on the event map features up to 2 different bonuses.
  2. Bonuses are activated once a clan occupies a province, and terminated when the clan stops owning the province.
  3. If a clan owns several provinces that provide the same bonus, the bonus effect is not multiplied. The clan gets the effect only from the most effective bonus.
    • For example, a clan owns two provinces. One of them provides a bonus of +3% to personal Fame Points earned, while the other province provides a bonus of +10% to personal Fame Points earned. Even with both bonuses active, the clan members will only get +10% to the personal Fame Points they earn.

4. Technologies

  1. Each technology is obtained once during the event and remains in effect until the event is over.
  2. A technology takes effect as soon as it is purchased in the Lab or after the clan receives it for completing a clan task.
  3. The effects of several technologies of the same type stack. Therefore, if a clan gets a technology that provides +5% to Fame Points earned, and later earns a technology that provides +10% to Fame Points earned, the clan members will receive a total bonus of +15% to Fame Points they earn.
  4. The cost of each technology may change dynamically depending on the number of clans that have purchased the technology. The more clans that get a particular technology, the less expensive it is for clans that do not have it yet.

5. Event Bonuses and Technologies Available

Effect Technologies Bonuses
Increased number of clan Fame Points earned in battles   Fronts: Basic, Advanced, Elite
Increased number of clan Fame Points for owning provinces of the Advanced and Elite fronts   Fronts: Basic, Advanced, Elite
Application for auction on the Advanced front   Basic Front
Application for auction on the Elite front
Increased reward for owning provinces in the Elite front territory   Elite Front
Increased effect of bonuses provided by provinces
Decreased duration of vehicle lock
Improved rate of exchanging clan Fame Points for Research Points

Personal Bonuses

Players can exchange personal Fame Points for personal bonuses that speed up the earning of personal Fame Points. These bonuses are activated as soon as they are received by the player.

This exchange is irreversible, so think carefully before proceeding! Making the right choice will allow you to earn more Fame Points and rank high in the event, while errors in calculations could lead to a lower ranking.

Landing Auctions at Provinces of the Advanced and Elite Fronts

  1. Players need to use landing auctions to get to the Advanced and Elite fronts.
  2. There are two ways of participating in an auction: get access to an auction via a technology or bonus, or make a bid with clan Fame Points.
  3. The main feature of landing auctions is that there can be more than one winner in an auction. After the auction ends, the auction winners meet for a tournament. The tournament winner faces the province owner. The maximum number of auction winners depends on the front — 16 winners at the Advanced front, and 8 winners at the Elite front.
  4. 8 applications for the Advanced front landing auction and 4 applications for the Elite front landing auction are reserved for clans that have earned access by capturing a province with the corresponding bonus, or by purchasing this bonus in the Lab.
  5. Until auction application time ends (one turn before battles start), all clans can make bids with clan Fame Points in the landing auction, or submit landing applications with the clan bonuses and technologies they have.
  6. One turn before the battle starts, the tournament bracket will be generated. It will include clans that have applied for a landing auction with bonuses and technologies, clans that have made the highest bids in clan Fame Points, and clans that have landed on the province "by land".
    • Example: 23 clans applied for a landing auction on the Advanced front. 2 clans own provinces that provide the corresponding bonus, and 4 clans have purchased the application in the Lab. 14 clans have made bids with clan Fame Points, and 3 clans have landed on the province "by land". One turn before battles start, the tournament bracket is generated. It will include 6 clans that have the corresponding bonuses (2 clans that own provinces with the relevant bonus and 4 clans that have purchased applicable technology), 10 clans that have made the highest bids with clan Fame Points, and 3 clans that have landed on the province "by land". The 4 clans that have made the smallest bids will not be able to participate in the tournament.
  7. If several clans make identical bids, the clans that made the bid first gets priority.
    • Example: 10 clans have made identical bids for a landing auction in the Elite front. In addition, 2 clans that own the corresponding technology have applied for this auction. In this case, 8 clans will win the auction — the 2 clans that own the right technology and the 6 clans who made their bids earlier than the other clans.
  8. All unsuccessful bids are returned to the clan.
  9. Battles between the auction winners and clans that land on the auction province "by land" are fought according to the standard rules applied to tournaments among challengers. In addition, the x5 multiplier is applied to personal and clan Fame Points earned in battles against the province owner.

Fame Points

  1. In Metal Wars, clans compete for Fame Points to claim the most valuable rewards of the event.
  2. Both clans and players earn Fame Points in battles.
  3. All players in the team earn the same amount of Fame Points per battle, multiplied by their own Personal Bonus coefficient.
  4. The formula for calculating Fame Points earned in battles is as follows:
    • Fame_Points — Fame Points earned in battle.
    • Fame_points_base — the basic number of Fame Points for the event: 1,500 on the Basic Front, 1,650 on the Advanced Front, and 1,800 on the Elite Front.
    • Battle_type_c — battle type multiplier.
    • Event_value_c — game event multiplier = 1.
    • Еlo_c — Elo rating multiplier, corresponds to the front's Elo rating for Tier X vehicles.
    • Team_XP — the amount of experience the team has earned in the battle.
    • Battle_XP — the total amount of experience the teams have earned in the battle.
    • Team_size — the set team size for the front: 10 players (Basic front), or 15 players (Advanced & Elite fronts).
    • Bonus_р — the multiplier provided by active bonuses for Fame Points earned in battles (different for clans and players).
    • Technology_р — the multiplier provided by active technologies for Fame Points earned in battles (for clans only).
    • Battle type multiplier (Battle_type_c)

  5. Personal Fame Points:
    • For this event, personal Fame Points can be earned only through battles.
    • During the event, personal Fame Points can be exchanged for Personal Bonuses.
    • Once the event is over, personal Fame Points can be exchanged for Personal Rewards.
  6. Clan Fame Points:
    • Clan Fame Points can be earned by fighting in battles and completing special conditions at the Advanced and Elite fronts.
    • The clan Fame Points earned will be recorded in the clan profile on the clan portal.
    • Clan Fame Points can be spent on a landing auction at the Advanced or Elite fronts (see 'Landing Auctions at Provinces of the Advanced and Elite Fronts' rules section above).
    • Clan Fame Points can be exchanged for Research Points, in full or in part, with the Investments mechanic.
    • Clan Fame Points, as well as any invested points, are displayed on the Global Map. This will allow evaluation of how opponents spend and earn their clan Fame Points.
  7. Match-fixing is prohibited by the Regulations. Clans and players that violate the rules will lose all their Fame Points (both clan and personal), and their game accounts will be banned.
  8. In controversial cases related to adding Fame Points (suspicion of fixed battles, etc.), the administration reserves the right to demand that battle replays, screenshots, and other related information be provided. If the requested information is not provided, the administration will make a decision at their own discretion. We strongly recommend enabling Battle Recording in the game settings.

Any reports regarding cheating or game rule violations should be submitted to Player Support by 15 July, 16:00 UTC +8.

3. Clan Leaderboard

IMPORTANT!

Some mechanics of the Metal Wars event are irreversible, and may affect clan progress in the event any unfair actions are performed by clan officers or any accounts are hacked. Please take responsibility for your security and consider the following before starting the event:

  • For clan commanders: Be cautious when selecting players who have access to officers' permissions and map operations; it is a good idea to limit the number of such players for the duration of the event.
  • Never transfer your account to any third party — it is not secure and violates the game rules.
  • We strongly recommend changing your account password before the start of the event.

  1. Depending on the clan's position on the Clan Leaderboard, the sum of the bonds received by members may be increased by the following multiplier:

    From

    To

    Clan multiplier

  2. Thus, if a player is among the top 7% of players on the region's Personal Leaderboard, and his clan is among the top 7% of clans in the same region, the player receives 800 bonds (from Personal Leaderboard) *5 (clan multiplier) = 4,000 bonds.
  3. Each player obtains the effect of the clan multiplier only from the clan to which he belongs at the moment of the end of the Metal Wars event, and only if he has fought at least 5 battles in the Metal Wars event as a part of this clan.
  4. Unlike other rewards, game gold shall be distributed for a determined position, not for being among a certain percentage of players. The total prize pool of 1,300,000 will be distributed among clans in the following way:

  2. Players who entered the Personal Leaderboard but did not earn enough Fame Points to redeem a reward vehicle may make a minimum bid of at least 4,500 Bonds for one in the Bond Auction. Personal Fame Points may be exchanged for Bonds and used in the Auction.
