Caren Tiger

Japanese powerhouse Caren Tiger has shown time and again that they can kick it with the big boys, having placed reliably in the top few spots of several recent major tournaments. With their initial goal of catching up to former mentors GOLD BASS (previously KONGDOO) now accomplished, team captain poly has his eyes set on a far loftier arena – The Grand Finals. Can they catapult their way to international stardom this time?

WG: What are your goals for the tournament this season?

poly: One of our goals is to find a girlfriend for Dekomori (lobos_tomy), same as the last season. Our other goal is to go to The Grand Finals as the Asia representative. A Japanese amateur team also dreams of appearing on the world stage. This is [what we aim to achieve] this Season. We believe that we have the potential to do it.

WG: Which team(s) are you most looking forward to facing in the Gold Series? Why?

poly: PVPSF, because Batman is such an amazing entertainer, as you may know.

WG: What are some of your team’s best achievements in WoT eSports?

poly: WGL APAC 2014 Season 2 Finals – 3rd place.

WGL APAC Season I Finals 2015 –2016– 3rd place.

The Pacific Rumble – 3rd/4th place.

The biggest one is the victory against KONGDOO [now known as GOLD BASS] in The Pacific Rumble. KONGDOO, whose previous name was ARETE, was our teacher. Defeating this team has been our goal for a long time.

WG: What do you like best about the new Tier X format?

poly: We are happy that we can use Japanese tanks.

However, we are not sure whether [this new format will] change the meta or not. The basics (tactics, skills, positioning etc.) that work in Tier 8 will also work in Tier 10.

WG: Where do you see yourselves as a team in the next couple of years? What do you hope to accomplish together?

poly: Each of our members has an individual goal to accomplish. Maybe we will not change in the next few years. Because we like both WoT and WGL.
