The Pacific Rumble: NA Team Interviews

Tournaments
In other languages: vi th zh-tw ja

This year’s Rumble will see new challengers from across the Pacific – WGLNA Season I champions Noble eSports, and all-star runners-up High Woltage Caballers. Fresh from battling against each other in their regional showdown, the two teams are now set to combine some of the best reflexes, minds and skills in North America with one common goal: to show the world what NA can do. But will they make their mark in Tokyo, or miss it entirely? There’s only one way to find out!

Noble eSports

The NA Season 1 champs, Noble eSports is led by AkulaV, the top damage dealer on the North American server. Noble also features last season's MVP, Dodoma, as well as Jerm, known throughout the league as one of the best battle callers in the game. Look for this team of seasoned vets to carry their championship momentum into the Rumble competition.

WG:
Please introduce your team to the eSports fans in Asia and Korea. How long have you been playing/competing in WoT? What are some of your achievements as a team?

NE: We are Noble eSports, the current NA champions. I [Comps, captain of Noble eSports] have been part of this team since it was formed in 2012. Some of the team’s achievements are 1st place in NA, Top 5 every other season and participating in last year’s Rumble in the West.

WG: What do you love most about competitive WoT?

NE: What I love most about competitive WoT is the opportunity to travel. It’s always nice to get to travel and see the world with the guys I play tanks with.

WG: Have you been to Tokyo before? How does it feel to be the first to represent NA in The Pacific Rumble?

NE: I have never been to Tokyo. It feels great to be able to represent the NA region at an international event.

WG: What do you hope to achieve in this tournament?

NE: I hope to showcase the level of talent in NA, and show the other regions that we are able to compete at any level.

WG: Any advice for aspiring WGL players?

NE: If I had any advice for aspiring WGL players it would be that results reflect the work you put in. Competing at a high level is not easy, and if you want to succeed, be ready to put in a lot of effort.

High Woltage Caballers

A Dream Team of Tankers, HWC features a group of all-star gamers who all decided to join together in search of one thing: championships. Led by Season 1 MVP, Dakillzor, the team lost only one match in the regular season before losing to Noble in the Finals. The team is hoping to prove they’re one of the top squads in the world by winning the Rumble.

WG:
Please introduce your team to the eSports fans in Asia and Korea. How long have you been playing/competing in WoT? What are some of your achievements as a team?

HWC: My name is ToFuSmurF, captain of High Woltage Caballers. We’re a new team in WGLNA, having played only one season together, but almost everyone on this team has been competing since WoT became an eSport. We have former champions in our ex-SIMP members: blueboyzcaptain, heavytwenty, and fej. We have a long time caller in WGLEU and current WGLNA MVP in Dakillzor. I’ve personally played since the WGLNA was created.

WG: How would you describe your team’s playstyle?

HWC: I’d like to think we’re very calculating; even when other teams bring unexpected things, we’ve probably practiced some derivation of that. So everything we do should be practiced and calculated.

WG: Which team do you think will prove the most exciting to watch?

HWC: I think just like the last Grand Finals, I’m looking forward to see how EL Gaming has progressed since the last Grand Finals, or even since their most recent season ended.

WG: What do you hope to achieve in this tournament?

HWC: We hope to win the whole thing. We want to put NA on the map, as we’ve been a punching bag for the rest of the world – I think it’s time we punch back, and punch hard.

WG: Why do you think you deserve to win The Pacific Rumble?

HWC: I think we’re a talented team that tripped up its last live experience. Like anything a new team has to deal with, we had to learn from that defeat, and I think it’s made us stronger. The Pacific Rumble is where we can show that.
