Now that the WGL APAC Season I Finals 2015 – 2016 teams have been announced, it’s time to find out more about them! We’re kicking things off this week with an introduction to this season’s champions of the Asia server, Caren Tiger and EL Gaming. Both teams have fought alongside each other in previous Season Finals, but will one of them be taking home the Season Finals crown this time? Read on to see what they had to say about the matter, and stay tuned for our interview with the Korea and China server teams next!

Caren Tiger (Asia)

This isn’t Caren Tiger’s first time at the WGL APAC Season Finals, and going by their performance in the WGL APAC-Asia Gold Series this season, it certainly won’t be their last. Previously known as Charlotte Tiger, their quirky personality and sense of humour have won them many fans, but it’s their ferocious wolf-pack-rush prowess that makes them so exciting to watch!

WG: Please introduce your team.
CT: Pop, cute, pretty and "moe" [, a Japanese term meaning ‘endearing’] Japanese team. We are somewhat strange players.

WG: Did you expect to join the APAC Season Finals? How do you feel about it?
CT: We did expect to get into the Season Finals, so we are relieved that we have made it here as anticipated.
We’ve always imagined how it would be like to battle in the Season Finals, so getting in was only a matter of time. The most important thing is what we’re going to do now that we’re here.

WG: Which team do you think will be the biggest threat to your team this season, and why?
CT: All the other teams are stronger than us. But strength does not always mean victory.
We are, however, paying extra attention to RefornGaming. We think there’s an information asymmetry between us; they can investigate us easily, but it is difficult for us to obtain intelligence on them.

WG: How have you been preparing for the Season Finals?
CT: We have tried to create special tactics which you have never seen before. These are what we need to succeed. But we don't know whether or not the new tactics will work yet.

WG: What do you aim to achieve this Season Finals?
CT: 1st goal: To find a girlfriend for CT_Dekomori_Sanae. This is the most important; nothing has changed since last season.
2nd goal: To get a ticket to The Grand Finals as a representative of the Asia cluster.
3rd goal: To attain some achievements which we can boast of to our friends and families.
Our main goal: We want to make Team Battles, WoT eSports and tournaments more and more popular, and if WoT eSports fans and players can hold their heads high after our matches, it would mean a lot to us.

EL Gaming (Asia)

Professional WoT team EL Gaming needs no introduction – they’ve been dominating the WGL APAC-Asia league tables consistently under the name ELONG since their inception in 2014, and even managed to take second place in the WGL Grand Finals earlier this year. Can they secure the Season Finals championship this time? We’ll just have to wait and see!

WG: Which team do you think is the most remarkable this season, and why?
EL: I think we are the most remarkable team. We have spared no pains to achieve our best.

WG: What do you aim to achieve this Season Finals?
EL: To win the championship, of course!

WG: What challenges have you faced this season, and how did you overcome them?
EL: Sometimes our schedule is too tight, because we have to focus on other commitments as well. We’ve had no choice but to increase the amount of training time.

WG: How have you been preparing for the Season Finals?
EL: We have made extensive preparations, including spending much more time on training and updating our equipment. Please look forward to our performance!

WG: Is there anything you would like to say to your fans and supporters?
EL: We will not disappoint you!
