Event Details

The next Wargaming Gathering will consist of a tour in the Great War Exhibition in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Great War Exhibition is located in Wellington’s historic Dominion Museum Building situated within the beautiful Pukeahu National War Memorial Park. It is fittingly adjacent to the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior and the National War Memorial.

Created by Sir Peter Jackson, the Great War Exhibition commemorates the role played by New Zealand in the First World War.

Master film-maker, Sir Peter Jackson, with the support of ANZ, has recreated the global story of the First World War at The Great War Exhibition. A stunning array of movie-like sets depict the war; scene by scene; year by year. From the massive 10-tonne tank and 11-tonne gun to the 5,000 tiny hand-painted figurines which reenact the battle of Chunuk Bair, the artefacts are rare and provoking.

After the guided tour, a gathering will be held at the museum café, Home Shores Cafe, where food and drinks will be served in a canape-styled function.
