[Tank Guide] 116-F3: A Chinese War God on the Battlefield

Commanders!

The War Gods event is coming to the Global Map from February 13 to February 27, and with it arrives a brand-new reward vehicle, the  X 116-F3 . This well-armored hard-hitter is a next-generation main battle tank from the late 1970s, that is well suited for offensive play.

Given it was designed with reference to successful Western tank designs, its no surprise the 116-F3 boasts a combination of features that sets it apart from the crowd. It features formidable frontal armor, a high-caliber gun with an autoloader for three shells, and a top reverse speed that will leave opponents in its dust.

Ready to learn more about the full potential of the 116-F3? Keep reading to discover everything this Chinese powerhouse has to offer.

Firepower

When taking the offensive, the  X 116-F3 packs a punch with its impressive 530 damage per shot, making it a force to be reckoned with in short, sharp exchanges or when trading. Its firepower doesn't burn brightest in extended battles, as its 1,908 DPM falls behind other tanks in its class. Its longer 5-second intra-clip reload time can be compensated for by skilled players who utilize strong positioning to outmaneuver the enemy.

A 40-second reload time for an empty clip may be on the longer side, yet impressive depression angles of -8 degrees give the vehicle a greater degree of tactical flexibility. The gun's 266 mm of AP penetration is among the best values for of all heavy tanks, while it's 325 mm of APCR will pierce even the thickest armor plates, incapacitating enemies in record times with its 1350 m/s shell velocity.

However, the 116-F3's gun handling is not without flaws. Its dispersion values of 0.42 aren't the best, and its aim time of 2.9 seconds is also on the low side. Accounting for this, the gun is less suited to quick snapshots and more capable in calculated engagements.

Survivability

In terms of survivability, the 116-F3 has its ups and downs. With only 2,100 HP, it can't charge head-first into battle, but it shines with impressive frontal turret armor that is great at bouncing enemy shots and well-angled frontal hull that offers great protection. Its small cupolas are also difficult to hit, adding to its defenses.

Although some parts of the gun mantlet can be penetrated and the turret ring extends to the side, creating a weak spot when sidescraping, the tank's high 400 m view range is ideal for avoiding trouble and dictating battles.

Mobility

There's less to be said about the mobility, with its characteristics being something of a mixed bag. Its top speed of 35 km/h is nothing to shout about, but its reverse speed of 20 km/h is a very good value and is only matched by the AMX 50 B. The tank's power-to-weight ratio is also satisfactory, but the overall mobility profile should be considered when approaching battle.

The parameters displayed are valid for the vehicle with each crew member trained to 100% major qualification level. Some vehicle characteristics can be further improved with the Commander's bonus to major qualification level, crew perks, and skills, as well as special in-game items.
