One of the critical challenges we face in trying to improve the Clan Wars gameplay experience is in bridging the geographical and cultural diversity within the APAC region. Our players are spread across at least 6 time zones and have very different work and life schedules.
This challenge is reflected in the data and player feedback we have received, in particular when it comes to the Global Map Seasons (excluding Events and Campaigns) that we have run in the past. Not only does the Global Map lack in consistent high level competition, but it can also be very demanding from a daily time commitment perspective for clan members as well as a logistical perspective for clan commanders.
On the other hand, Stronghold Advances battles have proven extremely popular as they offer greater scheduling flexibility while the weekly War Games provide a fair playground for clans to compete for rewards. Based on this, we have decided to further develop our Stronghold War Games system in order to provide a better Clan Wars gameplay experience for all clans in APAC.
As a first step towards this goal, we will suspend Global Map Season 14, and increase the current weekly War Games from 2 sessions every Sunday, to 5 sessions every weekend (Friday, Saturday and Sunday). This change will last for 4 weeks and serve as a live server test for the upcoming Seasonal War Games feature, which we will discuss in more detail in an upcoming article.
We understand that Global Map Seasons have been at the core of the Clan Wars experience for a long time and we do not take this decision lightly. However, we firmly believe this is the right direction to take to provide a better gaming experience for all our clan players in APAC. We would like to thank you for your long-term support of Clan Wars, and will continue to work closely with you to bring Clan Wars to its full potential.
More details will be announced shortly, so stay tuned!
