[Updated] Latency Issues in Update 1.14

Commanders!

We are aware that after the release of Update 1.14, some of you have been dealing with issues such as increased levels of ping, ping instability and/or packet loss.

In addition, with the release of Update 1.14, we performed technical maintenance aimed at improving the quality of the game. At the same time, in addition to network delays, additional time for server processing was added in the ping calculation system (this time wasn't previously taken into account). As a result of maintenance, the actual connection quality for players remained the same or improved, but the new ping values could cause confusion.

What's Next?

Players are used to determining the connection quality by the already established ping ranges, and we want to keep the comfort they are used to. Therefore, we will bring the visual display of ping back to the previous system in the next server update, while keeping the new optimization mechanisms.

Reporting Issues

We will continue to investigate any reported cases and other possible causes, so in the meantime, if you are still facing this problem, please submit the following materials to our Player Support team:

  • Describe the exact nature of the issue you experienced e.g. teleporting/freezing/stuttering for X seconds in every Y games played
  • Your trace log (generated via WGCheck or Pingplotter)
  • Replays of battles where you have encountered this issue
  • Date, time & server on which the issue occurred (HK/ANZ server)
  • Reports generated via the Wargaming.net Game Center
