Tank Commanders!

We're now past the second week of the QYC. As you'll come to see soon enough, a new team called 5-AE has emerged to challenge the eSports veterans.

How did they fare? If you watched the matches live last week, you'd know the answer. If you didn't, just scroll down below and start reading!

15th October

Match 1: 5-AE vs. Nvidia Aces Gaming

Match 1: 5-AE vs. Nvidia Aces Gaming

The first game was played on El Halluf. 5-AE initially did not venture far from their spawn-point on the east side of the map, but NVIDIA Aces soon forced their hand by putting Ningyo in the capture circle. Without Ningyo's presence, it became a 4 vs. 4 engagement, which gave Nvidia Aces Gaming the opportunity to show off their experience in coordinating firepower. The final tank remaining on 5-AE was in a 2 vs. 1 situation that might have been possible to convert to a draw if he was further from the capture point and thus the enemy team’s two tanks, but alas he fell with 30 seconds remaining on the clock.

The second game was played on Malinovka, and 5-AE moved behind their spawn to set up a camp spot, expecting their opponents to rush to the South side. However, this was not something that was working to their favor as they were already down one point. The final 90 seconds of the game were spent by 5-AE trying to rush Northwards to take NVIDIA Aces Gaming out of the game. The resulting engagement saw the final tank on 5-AE fleeing to safety, but at a steep cost. This allowed Nvidia Aces Gaming to become the victors of that best of five.

Match 1 Winner

5-AE 0:3 Nvidia Aces Gaming

Match 2: Baks Treat Boys vs. Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo

Match 2: Baks Treat Boys vs. Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo

Game number 1 took place on Sacred Valley and less than one minute after the game began, we saw NVIDIA Aces Gaming initiate the capture, forcing the hand of Baks Treat Boys. Using the bait to their advantage, and setting up an ambush long in advance, the veteran Vietnamese team took the game in less than 5 minutes’ time.

The 2nd game on El Halluf saw a slow standoff between Aces Bravo and BTB. However, with a capture initiated by BTB, and all five of the tanks on the North-East hill from Aces Gaming Bravo, they realized that they could initiate a five versus four fight.

Match 2 Winner

Baks Treat Boys 0:3 Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo

Match 3: Baks Treat Boys vs. 5-AE

Finals: Nvidia Aces Gaming vs Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo

Finals: Nvidia Aces Gaming vs Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo

Note: To maintain clarity, Nvidia Aces Gaming will be referred to as 'Aces Gaming', while Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo will be called 'Aces Bravo' for this recap.

At game number 1 on Malinovka, Aces Bravo rushed off to the South right from the start, but the movement of Aces Gaming as well as their positioning gradually allowed them to hunt down Aces Bravo one by one until it was just MacTavish left, and even he was shut out of the game. Aces Gaming won game number one without dropping a single tank.

Game 2 was played on El Halluf. Recognising that they had gained a single point advantage, Aces Gaming rushed to Aces Bravo’s spawn and camped there for the remainder of the game. Without dropping a single tank yet again, we see Aces Gaming take the set with near-perfection as they advance to the QYC Season Finals.

Finals Winner

Nvidia Aces Gaming 3:2 Nvidia Aces Gaming Bravo
