Introduction

Meet the Heavy Tank No. VI, the first Japanese heavy tank in the game! The legendary Tiger comes in a new wrapping.

Distinctive Features

  1.  An accurate gun with a high rate of fire and high aiming speed deals 1,885 damage per minute. The Japanese tank can easily crush its opponents to the glory of the Emperor in battles with Tier VII vehicles or Tier VI vehicles, where it tops the team list. In battles with Tier VIII vehicles, the best tactics that guarantees dealing damage is to manoeuver and hit enemies in the rear and sides; another possible option is to switch to premium shells.

Plenty of Shells and Cheap Standard Ammunition. The tank is able to carry 92 shells. If you multiply their number by the high rate of fire, you will get over 13 minutes of ceaseless shooting. The amount of shells allows firing at the most popular spots and staying calm over the sufficiency of ammo in the heat of the battle. In addition, ammunition goes for a song; armor-piercing shells cost only 240 credits, so the active shooting becomes absolutely irrelevant for farming, which is the main purpose of the premium Japanese tank.

Excellent View Range. The tank’s view range is 370 meters, and it is the best result as compared to its peers. The Japanese Tiger can easily control defended positions or spot enemies during their attack. Furthermore, it is not typical for the tank to suffer from fire of undetected opponents.

Accelerated Crew Training. Owing to special characteristics of premium vehicles, the Heavy Tank No. VI does not only earn more credits, but also enables the accelerated crew training. That feature is particularly notional on the threshold of adding a full-scale branch of heavy Japanese tanks to the game.

High Durability. The Japanese Tiger is one of the most solid Tier VI heavy tanks. Hit points of the tank make it a formidable opponent for all vehicles of the same tier and a true steel wall that can pierce defenses and stay fit for further actions.

Mobility. The Japanese predator has an impressive mobility for a heavy tank. The reported maximum speed is 40 km/h, but the Heavy Tank No. VI easily shows the cruise speed of 30–35 km/h, which is more than enough for capturing strategic positions and moving across the map if it is required by the combat situation.

Armor Protection. The Japanese rookie inherited the Krupp armor suit from the Tiger I, a Tier VII heavy tank. However, the vehicle from the Land of the Rising Sun is Tier VI; therefore, its armor protection is more than satisfactory. If the tank is at the top of the team list, the tactics of using thick armor works perfectly. Rotate the hull to absorb damage, and Lady Luck in feline guise will smile on you. Battles against Tier VII and VIII vehicles will require being more careful, as 100 mm of steel, albeit produced by Krupp, will be unable to help in a close encounter.

Tactical Role in Combat

The scenario of using the imperial Tiger on the battlefield directly depends on the position of the tank in the team list.

At the Top. This position gives the Japanese tank freedom to act. The heavily armed samurai has power to exchange long shots, breach defenses and hold back superior enemy forces. The Heavy Tank No. VI dominates Tier VI battles. If you top the list, you should realize that the outcome depends on you. It does not matter who your opponent is, because your only goal is to farm credits and eliminate enemies.

Tier VII Battles. Tier VII battles are much more interesting and diverse. You must admit that it is more challenging to go through facings of fighting rough opponents than to shoot low-tier tanks like fish in a barrel. The German heritage of the Japanese tank offers all necessary facilities for winning. Owing to the excellent view range and famous 88-mm gun, the tank will pose a problem for higher-tier vehicles, as the frontal armor of the majority of Tier VII vehicles is vulnerable to its shells. Nevertheless, frontal attacks should be ruled out, because the 100-mm frontal armor is not sloped, and the heavy tank may suffer from enemy shells.

Tier VIII Battles. Almost all Tier VIII vehicles are extremely dangerous for the Japanese rookie. That is why you should remember the first commandment of Bushido: “It is true courage to live when it is right to live, and to die only when it is right to die.” It is not a good idea to leap into action with other heavy tanks. The best tactics for the Heavy Tank No. VI in this situation is to support groups of medium tanks and take positions suitable for hitting soft spots of opposing vehicles. Stay behind your allies, be attentive to the minimap, and the victory will be yours.

Conclusion

The new Japanese tank will not offer you a unique gameplay and will not require excessive efforts. It is a trusty beast that just does its part by dealing damage, utilizing qualities of its armor, and, most crucially, farming credits.

One of the most distinctive features of the Heavy Tank No. VI is its tier. The tank possesses almost the same characteristics as the Tiger I, but the lower tier gives you a certain advantage. Furthermore, the new vehicle may be used to train a crew for Japanese heavy tanks; it is announced that the corresponding branch will be added in patch 9.10.
