Tank commanders,

In recent days, WG TW office organised a "Operation Yungle" book donation program. We called upon all Taiwanese players to donate books to Yungle elementary school, a remote and small elementary school in Taiwan. Wargaming received hundreds of books from players, and we chipped in further by donating PCs, monitors and a scholarship to the school which had only 76 students.

Sky Lin, head of WG TW office, said: "Thanks to all Wargaming players in Taiwan, "Operation Yungle" book donation program was successfully accomplished, and we practised contribution to the society. We hope this donation drive will raise more awareness about the problem of the lack of education resources in remote areas.

We believe that with continuous efforts, we will eventually be able to narrow the differences of education resources between the cities and remote areas. We want to make it such that every student can have an opportunity at education and grow up in a conducive learning environment with sufficient resources.

Thanks to all Wargaming players in Taiwan, WG had received many language, military, historical and popular science books. We believe that with continuous efforts, we will eventually be able to narrow the differences of education resources between the cities and remote areas. We want to make it such that every student can have an opportunity at education and grow up in a conducive learning environment with sufficient resources. With this opportunity, Wargaming players can reutilise their old books and let knowledge flow on in a more meaningful way."

Mr. Wu, the principal of Yungle elementary school said: "Wargaming's donation of books and computers has been a great help. The scholarship also encourages students to learn well. We are thankful that Wargaming has supported us in our needs and rendered help to us in the most essential way."

Sisko, a famous stream caster of World of Tanks who specialises in legal, said on his Facebook fan page: "In Taiwan, many children can't afford a good education as they come from poor families and don't have sufficient education resources. Many people don't know that I have worked in the educational field for some time before I became a stream caster. I have witnessed many children from poor families fall into a vicious cycle. With no resources, they are unable to get a good education and thus are not able to change the situation of poverty that plagues them.

For a man who was previously a teacher, this hits me as a really sad fact. I can't acknowledge the fact that these children have lost out in life due to factors that are beyond their control. This is injustice. Education is their basic right and should not be taken away from them."

His words touched the hearts of many community players and spurred the Wargaming Taiwan office on further to fight for this cause.

After establishing in Asia, WG constantly focused on different aspects such as historical weapons restoration and preservation; eSport promotion and social care. We hope this program is just the beginning of more meaningful causes to come and welcome all Wargaming players to participate.

◆ About Yungle Elementary School

Yungle elementary school is located in a remote area in Taiwan with only 73 students in its roster. Because of local employment difficulties, almost all of its students come from poor families. The school also suffers from poor education resources.
